Ear candling, also known as ear coning or thermal-auricular therapy, is a practice where a hollow, cone-shaped candle is placed in the ear and lit on the other end. This creates a vacuum effect, which helps remove earwax and other impurities from the ear canal.
The process of ear candling works under the premise that the burning candle creates negative pressure, which draws the earwax into the hollow center of the candle. It is believed that once the earwax is drawn into the candle, it will be pulled out of the ear canal, leaving the ear clean and improving hearing.
